Underdog Underdog è un nome, una suggestione, un progetto che prende spunto dalla biografia di Mingus "Beneath the Underdog" . L`obiettivo è una miscela ritmica di sonorità jazzistiche e stili inusuali pescati e poi rivitalizzati da gruppi come Einstuerzende Neubauten, Brainiac, Primus, Nick Cave, Tom Waits…… con tutto il gioco di contrasto tra voce maschile schizofrenica e nasale e il cantato femminile, angelico. Il gruppo nasce e si evolve in "forma aperta": collaborazioni e rivisitazioni dei brani avvengono di continuo. L`approdo ad "Altipiani" avviene con la forma orchestrata di sette elementi, in continuo moto d`equilibrio, per cui ogni voce e suono del gruppo si accosta ai pezzi e sceglie il suo ruolo e il suo rumore:cosí, paradossalmente, nasce la struttura del brano: teste che suonano e rifiutano i dogmi. Attualmente approdati ad un nuovo connubio con l`etichetta "Altipiani", il gruppo, continua a esplorare, sporcarsi, discutersi…..nel 2009 per Altipiani Factory: "Keine Psychotherapie"…………………. Underdog is just a name, a fascination, a project inspired by Charles Mingus's autobiography "Beneath the Underdog". The aim of the group is to play a rhythmic mixture full of jazz sound and unusual styles, taken from musicians and groups such as Kurt Weill, Einstuerzende Neubauten, Brainiac, Primus, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, and to give them a novel dress through the able contrast between the schizophrenic nasal male voice and the angelic female singing. The spirit of the group is to be open to continuous and various collaborations and re-examinations. They were a group (an orchestra) of seven when they met ALTIPIANI RECORD, seven instruments, seven minds, seven voices, each finding its ideal role and sound in every song and in a continuous balance with the others.This is the way the structure of the songs comes out: playing minds out of rules
