A.Ballerini coordinatore e co-fondatore di Aips Archivio Italiano Paesaggi Sonori e Oak Editions art label

Alessio Ballerini, multimedia artist, uses a computer and other devices to create experimental, minimalist and multi-stratified sounds and film.
He explores real and imaginary landscapes by using field recordings, guitar, piano and digital composition, so that the sound finds its beauty in the harmonic ambient substrate.
In 2010, he founded AIPS – Archivio Italiano Paesaggi Sonori together with Francesco Giannico. In 2013, always with Giannico he founded Oak, an art music label.
He has collaborated and shared the stage with Alva Noto, Lawrence English, Oval, Retina, Enrico Coniglio, Senking, Erik Skodvin, Giuseppe Cordaro, Francesco Giannico, TU M’, Pietro Riparbelli…
“ By manipulating his guitar through a variety of effects, and cushioning the sounds on a bed of field recordings, Ballerini goes for a different approach than his predecessors…..more concise and the moods and atmospheres more varied. Deathly silent one moment, crackling with vibrancy the next…Think Fennesz, Fabio Orsi, Keith Fullerton Whitman…think Alessio Ballerini. “ – The Silent Ballet
