Apnea Into The Radio is an independent duo from Rome, formed in 2014 by Alfonso Pezzaniti — vocals, guitar, synth and programming — and Giuse del Mar — bass and synth bass. The project's first steps are taken in a territory shaped by a dream-pop shoegaze attitude, surrounded by lyrics in Italian. In 2016 they released the single "Acrobati", the first official document of the project. In 2017 they recorded a live video at Boiler Studio across three tracks — Acrobati, Apnea and Decay — earning early recognition within the Roman underground scene. That same year they won Arezzo Wave Calabria and went on to compete in the national final. A pause followed: a period of silent evolution in which the duo experimented with new atmospheres, moved from Italian to English vocals, and explored parallel musical projects. A drift that would find its shore in electronic soundscapes suspended between post-punk, shoegaze influences, dreamlike atmospheres and restless tensions. Between minimal electronic beats, distorted imagery and sonic contrasts, the project aims to evoke immersive landscapes shaped by unease and suspended atmospheres. The project returns in 2026 with "Isolation Is a Lie" — a single accompanied by a music video — anticipation of an EP due out in autumn.
