TESTO ORIGINALE
No, Ten Thousand Bees do not sound like an enormous swarm of buzzing bees, but is a delicately rocking quartet from Maniago. The delicate part is due to the use of glockenspiel, vibraphone and high-pitched female vocals - it reminds me a lot of early nineties alt.rockbands like Belly and Smashing Pumpkins. There's one truly great song on "Polar Days", and that's "Sun King Sandrine". It's loud, has a tender middle part and builds up to a great finale. Ten Thousand Bees know very well how to create an atmosphere, how to keep the tension in a song and how to not take too much time: most songs barely pass the 4 minute mark. Love that video shot in Amsterdam (see their myspace-site), shame about the rather dull instrumental at the end, though.
