Biografia Electric Souls

Electric Souls are a nu-jazz trio from the Florentine suburbs born in 2020, but recently reformed in 2025 with the new lineup composed of Dario Mangano (Guitar), Alberto Palloni (Bass) and Edoardo Battaglia (Drums).

The sound of the band is an eye-catcher towards the new jazz movement born in recent years in London and which is rewriting the rules of contemporary jazz. In this musical experimentation, jazz has found new guises in which to express itself, mixing with many genres linked to the London Club Scene of the 90s’ such as House Music, Drum'n'Bass, Jungle, Disco, Broken Beat, Grime, Garage. “Liquid Tension” is the first album by the Florentine jazz trio released on June 2, 2023. The album moves fluidly in this multitude of genres, outlining something new in the jazz soundscape. In terms of concept, the band was strongly inspired by some places in the Florentine suburbs, where the album was born and which iconographically identify the underground landscape sought by the trio on a sound level.

From the cover, a painting that portrays the Ponte All'Indiano Viaduct created by Dalia Mauri, through the titles of the songs such as ‘FLR’ up to the settings of the video clip of the single ‘One, Due, Tre’, everything refers to a different Florence from the one you are used to seeing in postcards. The band has released their second album DIFFERENTLY in August 2025, preceded by the singles released ‘Slow Motion’ feat. Dede. and ‘Rising’ feat. Michele Tedesco on trumpet.
