Il brano parla della mia esperienza personale e del classico “restiamo amici” che si dice dopo la fine di una relazione, anche se amici non si riesce ad essere mai. Ogni mattina ero costretta a rivedere i luoghi che avevano reso speciale il nostro rapporto con il timore di poterci incontrare da un momento all’altro nei posti che avevamo sempre frequentato insieme. Così è nata ‘friends’, che mi ha permesso di porre fine ai miei tormenti e di guadagnare una canzone nuova, anziché un “amico”.
