Viviamo le nostre vite come una corsa continua, senza un apparente motivo. Ogni occasione sembra condurci alla meta, ogni sforzo sembra essere l'ultimo. Prendiamo nuove direzioni, cerchiamo altre diverse e mentre noi siamo alla ricerca di un nuovo obiettivo, altri beneficiano dei nostri sforzi. Siamo come topi in gabbia, in questa prigione che sta affondando.
Il videoclip di Rat Race è un'esperienza immersiva in cui i flussi di immagini sono una combinazione di elementi animati all'interno di una struttura sferica che ruota a ritmo di musica e i movimenti della figura antropomorfa, realizzata in 3D e animata in motion capture, sono enfatizzati con improvvise accelerazioni legate al suono. Le dinamiche esprimono l'eterna ricerca dell'ottenere, il finito che scopriamo eterno, l'apparenza che si svela senza scampo.

"Rat Race" is a single extract from Escapes, an album by the Italian band Mattatoio5.
We live our lives as a never-ending race, apparently running without a reason. Every situation seems to lead us to the goal, every effort seems to be the last. We take new directions, we develop different solutions and while we're searching for new purposes other people take advantage from our work. We're like rats in a cage, in this sinking prison.
The videoclip is an immersive experience where the images flux is a mix of animated elements put inside a spheric structure revolving to the rhythm of music and the 3d manlike shape movements are emphasised with unexpected accelerations linked to the sound of the music. The dynamics express the eternal searching of obtaining, the finished that we discover being never-ending, the appearance unveiling without escapes.
