Quattro Bambole Music presents the short-film of “CRISALIDE”, an anticipation of the debut album by the italian producer Kamaji out in 2022. A whole new expression of sounds and compositions that will land on both vinyl and digital, signing the 10th official release for the prolific label based in Salento.
This video is meant to be interpreted as a reflection on the continuous evolution of the artist, metaphorically narrated through the act of the transformation of butterflies, from caterpillar to chrysalis.
The first character to appear is Ayl, a young excursioning a primal and desert-like world, where colours are still not unveiled and everything seems still to be discovered. Ayl will soon meet May, the second character, and attracted by many similarities they instantly become friends, spending the day hanging around an uncommon and desolated planet. At night, colours starts to dwell on nature, objects and beyond, seizing the world as we knew it to this day. Ayl gets up and sees the world filled up with colours, but May has inexplicably disappeared. Surprised and confused about what just happened, Ayl goes and looks for her new friend, wondering by now about her existence, she suddenly finds her curled up between thick sea fennel bushes, but May won’t get up. She is scared about colours, and hiding from the sunlight in order avoid seeing them. Ayl won’t give up and keeps trying to convince May to explore this whole new world together. The story continues after the end credits, where we see the moment of their encounter again, but this time, they appear almost invisible to each other, leading to assume that May was none other than Ayl’s less brave side of her own personality, thus less confident to accept and embark a new whole world, a world made of colours. Although the two characters chronologically appear together towards the end of the short movie, the ending of this story does remain unveiled, as we won’t ever know if May will ever look at the sunlight again.
