Ten Years è il brano più nostalgico dell’EP, una riflessione amara su quanto velocemente possano
scorrere gli anni senza che ce ne accorgiamo. Parla di un tempo in cui non si aveva nulla, nessun piano, nessuna certezza, e proprio per questo si aveva tutto. Giornate per strada, desideri enormi e la leggerezza di non sapere che quello era già il momento migliore.
Il cuore del brano è il rimpianto di non essersi accorti di vivere nei propri “good old days” mentre stavano accadendo. Dieci anni sembrano cinque, forse perché metà del tempo è passato senza essere stato davvero vissuto. Le persone cambiano, i volti diventano estranei, e nel tentativo di rincorrere qualcosa si finisce per perdere anche una parte di sé.
Non si può tornare indietro, e ciò che manca non è solo un periodo della vita, ma le persone e la versione di sé che esistevano allora.
Ten Years è la consapevolezza che il tempo non si può fermare, e che spesso capiamo di aver avuto tutto solo quando non c’è più.
