DESCRIZIONE
Mandelbrot! Mandelbrot! è il quarto singolo di Atom Lux (in pArte Lucio Filizola). Il brano, ruvido, detonante, impregnato di fuzz e overdrive, segue le vicende di un vagabondo immaginario bidimensionale che decide di intraprendere un viaggio all’interno del frattale di Mandelbrot, un mondo geometrico affascinante e ricorsivo, in cui però non esistono riferimenti e quindi è impossibile orientarsi, tantomeno trovare il modo di uscirne. Il dramma del viaggiatore si evolve attraverso una miscela acida di fuzz-rock’n’roll, psych-rock e post-grunge, dominata da chitarre riffose e iper-sature, voci megafoniche e una sezione ritmica senza fronzoli, ma efficace. Il nomade geometrico, ormai perso nello sconfinato mondo frattale di Mandelbrot, abbandona la speranza di trovare una via d’uscita e si rassegna, riuscendo addirittura a godersi l’assurdo viaggio senza meta, a tal punto da esortare l’ascoltatore ad unirsi a lui e a lasciarsi andare. Nell’outro del pezzo le chitarre prepotenti si fanno da parte, cedendo il posto ad un tappeto di synth sorretto da elementi ritmici elettronici riverberati, lasciando in questo modo respirare – anche se per poco tempo - il brano, per poi rientrare nuovamente in crescendo nella chiusura vera e propria della canzone.
