"The Cricket" opens the musical journey with mellow indie sounds that wrap up in a loud distorted finale, with a prolonged guitar solo in the outro. It is also the songs that refers to the album title: "Here I stay in the Magic Pond, hearing voices getting far". The Cricket talks about acceptance, but also about satisfaction for the sense of personal growth and maturity, in particular for having gained back the ability to listen and reconnect, with others, with nature and with oneself, eradicating selfishness: "The selfish man has done with shouts, I cut is throat, he is on the ground". The atmosphere in the Magic Pond is not fairy at all. Acceptance comes with a painful process and strong admissions of guilt: "The moon reflects my two dead eyes, killer was I, and victim dies". But it is beautiful to see that one does not host selfishness any longer, and other people are bound to fulfill that task, with their decisions not to forgive and engage, but to disappear: "You must be far, forgiveness lacks, the selfish soul's new home is intact".
