Gian Luca & The Oak è Gianluca Gentile. Italian born, American rooted, London Based folk/americana singer-songwriter.
Dalla sua nativa Caserta, attraverso Roma e Londra, pensa spesso alle parole di Bob Dylan, al sorriso di James Taylor, all'immaginario di Jackson Browne, all'energia degli Old Crow Medicine Show o allo humour di Ryan Adam. Cresciuto però quando artisti quali Vic Chesnutt, Jason Molina, Gravenhurst, Elliott Smith erano attivi e i loro dischi gli hanno letterlamente cambiato il modo di vedere le cose.
Dopo anni di scrittura, cambiamenti, live performance e riscrittura, rilascia il suo primo EP autoprodotto The Flowers Never Grown via Bandcamp il 22 Aprile 2017. Registrato e missato al Soup Studio (London, UK), The Flowers Never Grown contiene 6 tracce originali, e si avvale di spledide collaborazioni quali qualle con William Schaff per l'artwork (Okkervil River, Jason Molina, Songs:Ohia, Gravenhurst, Godspeed You! Black Emperor) e Francesca Zonars per le fotografie.
