A cold haze rises from the earth
blurring our idle afternoon
conceals a riddle to be guessed
and just as much truth as one can bear
Another Sunday by the bay
another rock ripplin’ the blue

drawing magnetic circular waves

the layers of time

brightens our nights
while from the gorge the river roars downhill

silvery water swells and heaves
the world is suddenly at hand
to our utter and sheer disbelief

and see the stars glare through the veil
