"Pigalle" è ciò che accade quando un Michael Stipe adolescente incontra la signora Robinson sulla strada per il Moulin Rouge. È una canzone pop allegra con influenze new wave e post-punk, che strizza l'occhio alle grandi band indipendenti americane dei primi anni '80 e un pizzico dei momenti più orecchiabili del Britpop.
