Memories of a Formerly Human Child.
In a distant future, humanity had only one way to win the war against the machines: by becoming machines themselves. After transferring the consciousness of the survivors into machines, humans gained longer, 'renewable' lives and an incredible capacity for logical processing, but lost touch with their emotions. They then connect to a mainframe capable of simulating long-lost realities, trying to reclaim their lost emotions. But are they truly alive? Or is there only a cold and melancholic shadow left of a once-great civilization?
