Winter Dies In June are a quintet from Parma, Italy. The group emerged from the ashes of Vancouver – who received acclaim at home and abroad for their post-rock infused indie. A line-up change saw Winter dies in June emerge - augmented by the rhythm section from cult lo-fi. band Isabel at Sunset. The music that followed saw a move from focussed post-rock to layered, epic indie-pop. Influences include Explosions in the Sky, Mono, Band of Horses, Hefner, Fanfarlo, Blur, and Pulp. Winter aim to use instrumental shimmer to enhance, rather than submerge the pathos of the storytelling in their songs. Debut album The Soft Century is awash with delay, reverb, and memorable hooks.
